In 2012, the Cadmium Telluride Materials Research Center at the University of New Jersey Technology was renamed the China National Building Materials American Optoelectronic Materials Research Center. In 2015, the National Development and Reform Commission awarded the project the "Major Project to Enhance the Core Competitiveness of the National Manufacturing Industry."
In 2017, the first large-scale (1.92 m2)cadmium telluride power generation glass was launched to close the home technical deficit.
In 2018, the world's first large-area (1.92m2) cadmium telluride power generation glass production line went into service.The production line has intellectual property rights industry 4.0, and the products are supplied to the market in batches in the same year to achieve profitability. In 2021, the laboratory conversion efficiency was 20.24%, and the production line conversion efficiency was 16.8%, achieving domestic first-class and international leading status.
